Rotary Foundation
The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to support the efforts of Rotary International in the fulfillment of the Object of Rotary, Rotary's mission, and the achievement of world understanding and peace through local, national, and international humanitarian, educational, and cultural programs. Rotarians, create a better world with your annual gifts! The Rotary Foundation of
Rotary International raises and manages money to underwrite most of the
international humanitarian projects for which Rotary is best known. The
Foundation’s primary focus since 1988 has been the eradication of polio,
and incidence of the disease has steadily declined over that period. A
renewed effort in 2003 raised over $72 million in the first of a 3-year
campaign to reach the last, most isolated at-risk villages in Africa and
Central Asia. The Foundation’s Annual
Funds program received $56 million in donations in 2002-03 to help support
various humanitarian and educational programs. These funds support the
Matching Grants program, the 3-H (Health, Hunger, Humanity) Grants
program, and Rotary scholarship programs ranging from Youth Exchange and
Group Study Exchanges to Ambassadorial Scholarships and the building of
Rotary Centers for International Studies. |
